Terms & Conditions

The terms governing your use of the LANCE app, the Pro upgrade, in-app purchases, vouchers, refunds and support. Last updated June 2026.

In shortLANCE Free is provided free of charge and as is. LANCE Pro is unlocked by a single one-time in-app purchase on Google Play or by redeeming a valid voucher — there is no subscription. Payments are handled by Google Play, not by us. If your Pro unlock ever disappears, the in-app Restore purchase function re-validates it at no extra cost. LANCE is a tactical tool that you operate at your own responsibility.

1. Scope & provider

These General Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the contractual relationship between you ("user") and TAKHUB GmbH ("we", "us") regarding the LANCE software application and its Free, Pro and Enterprise editions. They apply in the version current at the time you download, use or purchase within the app.

Deviating, conflicting or supplementary terms of the user do not become part of the contract unless we have expressly agreed to them in writing. For the Enterprise edition, a separate written licensing agreement applies and takes precedence over these Terms.

2. The LANCE software & editions

LANCE is a plugin for the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) that carries tactical data over a local Meshtastic / LoRa mesh between your own radios. It is offered in three editions with the scope of functions described on our website and pricing page at the relevant time:

The specific feature set of each edition follows from the description valid at the time of your download or purchase. You have no claim to any particular feature beyond the edition you actually acquired, and feature sets may evolve over time.

3. Licence & rights of use

Upon installation and — where applicable — successful purchase, we grant you a simple, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to install and use LANCE on devices under your control for your own lawful purposes.

You may not resell, rent out, lease, sublicense or otherwise commercially distribute the software, nor pass on, share or circumvent licences, entitlements or voucher codes. You may not decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer the software except to the extent such acts are expressly permitted by mandatory law. All intellectual property rights in LANCE remain with TAKHUB GmbH or its licensors.

4. LANCE Free

LANCE Free is provided free of charge and on an "as is" basis. You have no claim to permanent availability, to any specific feature or to the continued provision of the Free edition. We may modify, restrict, or discontinue the Free edition or individual functions at any time at our reasonable discretion. Beyond the liability provisions in these Terms, no warranty or liability is assumed for the free edition to the extent legally permissible.

5. The Pro upgrade & how it is unlocked

LANCE Pro is a one-time unlock — not a subscription and not a recurring charge. There are exactly two ways to obtain it:

  • by completing a single, one-time in-app purchase through Google Play; or
  • by redeeming a valid voucher code inside the app.

When you purchase through Google Play, the purchase transaction is concluded via the Google Play platform. Google acts as payment processor and, depending on your region, as seller of record under its own terms and policies. The price and currency shown to you in Google Play at the moment of purchase are decisive and may vary by market, taxes and currency. The Pro entitlement is tied to the Google account used to purchase or redeem it and is activated immediately upon successful payment or redemption.

6. Vouchers

A voucher unlocks LANCE Pro without a Google Play payment. Unless expressly stated otherwise on the voucher:

  • each voucher is single-use and can be redeemed only once;
  • it is bound to the account that first redeems it;
  • it cannot be exchanged for cash, credit or partial value;
  • it may carry a validity period and expire after that period;
  • vouchers cannot be combined or stacked with other offers.

We may block or invalidate vouchers that were obtained unlawfully, distributed without authorisation, issued in error or used abusively. A voucher confers no claim beyond unlocking the Pro features it is designated for.

7. Prices & payment

Consumer prices are stated including any applicable statutory VAT where shown. Payment for the Pro upgrade is processed exclusively through Google Play; we do not collect or store your full payment details. We are not responsible for the availability, correctness or processing of payments by Google and assume no liability for the Google Play platform itself.

8. Restore purchase

Your Pro entitlement is linked to the Google account you used to acquire it. If your Pro access is ever missing — for example after reinstalling the app, switching to a new device, or clearing app data — you can use the Restore purchase function inside the app to re-validate your entitlement against that account.

Restoring re-applies an unlock you already own at no additional cost; we will never charge you a second time for an entitlement you have already paid for. Restore requires the same Google account that made the original purchase and a working connection to Google Play. If a restore does not succeed despite a valid entitlement, contact our support and we will help resolve it.

9. Right of withdrawal for consumers

If you are a consumer, you generally have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract for digital content within fourteen days without giving reasons.

However, LANCE Pro is digital content that is supplied immediately. By purchasing and unlocking Pro, you expressly consent to us beginning performance before the withdrawal period expires and you acknowledge that, by giving this consent, you lose your right of withdrawal as soon as performance begins (§ 356(5) of the German Civil Code, BGB). Because the unlock is delivered to you immediately upon purchase, the right of withdrawal lapses at that moment.

10. Refunds

Because the Pro upgrade is purchased through Google Play, any refund request is handled in accordance with Google Play's refund policy and must be submitted through Google Play. Beyond your statutory rights, and once the digital content has been delivered and the right of withdrawal has lapsed under section 9, we are under no obligation to grant a refund for a one-time unlock. Vouchers are non-refundable. Your mandatory statutory warranty rights and consumer rights remain unaffected by this section.

11. Availability, updates & changes

LANCE is offline-first and runs on your device, so its core function does not depend on our servers. We make reasonable efforts to keep our services available but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or always-current operation. We may, but are not obliged to, provide updates, improvements or new features.

We may change, replace or discontinue individual features. For paid Pro users we will preserve the essential core functionality purchased, or provide a reasonably equivalent replacement, where this is proportionate. We do not guarantee compatibility with future or third-party versions of ATAK, Android, Meshtastic or radio hardware.

To detect and fix errors and continuously improve LANCE, we reserve the right to collect anonymous diagnostic and crash data — such as crash reports, error messages, app version and device model. Collection follows an opt-out principle: it is active by default, but you can fully disable all telemetry at any time with a switch in the app settings. In line with the GDPR, this never includes your exact location or personally identifiable information. Further details are set out in our Privacy Policy.

12. Your responsibility & acceptable use

LANCE is a tactical communication tool. You are solely responsible for operating it lawfully, including compliance with all applicable radio, frequency, spectrum, licensing and export-control regulations in your jurisdiction, and for the lawful and ethical use of the software. You are responsible for your own hardware, radios, device security, encryption keys and data.

Owing to the nature of LoRa mesh radio, we do not warrant or guarantee any specific range, throughput, coverage or successful delivery of messages, positions or markers.

Safety noticeLANCE is not a certified safety-of-life system or an emergency service. Do not rely on it as your sole means of communication in situations involving danger to life, health or property. Always maintain independent, redundant means of communication.

13. Warranty

For the paid Pro edition, the statutory warranty applies. The Free edition is provided without warranty to the extent legally permissible. The software is provided in the condition described at the time of acquisition; insignificant deviations or immaterial reductions in usability do not constitute a defect. Given the nature of radio and mesh communication, we do not warrant any specific range, throughput or uninterrupted connectivity.

14. Limitation of liability

We are liable without limitation for damages arising from injury to life, body or health, for damages caused intentionally or by gross negligence, under the German Product Liability Act, and to the extent we have given a guarantee.

In the event of slight negligence, we are liable only for the breach of an essential contractual obligation (an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely), and in that case only for the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract.

Any further liability is excluded. In particular, and to the extent legally permissible, we are not liable for mission outcomes, loss of data, indirect or consequential damages, or damages resulting from reliance on the app in safety-critical situations. These limitations also apply in favour of our legal representatives and vicarious agents.

15. Support

The level of support depends on your edition:

16. Term & termination

The Pro unlock is granted on a one-time, perpetual basis; there is no recurring term and no automatic renewal. You may stop using LANCE and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or terminate access in the event of serious or repeated breaches of these Terms — for example unlawful use, distribution of the software, or circumvention or manipulation of licensing, entitlements or vouchers. Statutory rights of termination remain unaffected.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms where there is a valid reason, such as changes in the legal situation, court rulings, or new or changed features. The current version is always published on this page. Where a change materially affects the rights of existing Pro users, we will give reasonable advance notice by appropriate means. Mandatory consumer-protection rights remain unaffected.

18. Final provisions

These Terms and the contractual relationship are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence remain unaffected. Where permitted by law, the place of jurisdiction for all disputes is the registered seat of TAKHUB GmbH.

Should individual provisions of these Terms be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. These Terms are provided in several languages for your convenience; in the event of a discrepancy, the meaning intended by the German and English versions prevails, without prejudice to mandatory consumer law.

The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution (ODR): https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
